The event was organised through the Land Rover Owners Club of Victoria, which is the longest established four-wheel drive club in Australia.

The club was established in 1963 and aims to promote, represent, encourage and support four-wheel drive touring as a recreation.

Stephen Ringe, who is a long-time member of the Land Rover Owners Club of Victoria, said the 11th annual event saw 22 vehicles on display.

“There was around 30-40 people there between the drivers and their passengers, and that’s about the average number we get every year,” he said.

“People come from Melbourne, Bendigo and Portland - some have come as far away as Naracoorte.

“On Sunday, we go for a drive to a place of interest around the district – we’ve been to Mount Elephant and on the local homesteads, like Gala and Titanga, in previous years.

“This year we went to the Cressy aerodrome and then we went down to Beeac and Red Rock before returning to Lismore.”

The weekend also featured demonstrations of Land Rovers using vintage farm machinery as well as showcasing the vehicles’ off-road capabilities through an off-road course in town.
