Last Saturday’s 12-goal loss to the Koroit Saints sees the Bombers hold on to second spot on the ladder but now three games below leaders South Warrnambool.

The Open division ladder remains tight, with Cobden, Koroit and the fourth-placed Blues all sitting on 32 points with just percentage separating the trio.

North Warrnambool Eagles rounds out the top five just a game below.

The second term saw the home side add three majors to head into the main break with a handy 16-point lead before the visitors took their game up a notch in the third, applying pressure on the board to get within a point heading into the last term.

Best for the Bombers were Tim Auckland, Angus Uwland, Ben Berry, Rhys Unwin, Matthew Kemp and Christian Koroneos.

Brody Mahoney kicked three majors for the game while team-mates Rhys Unwin and Angus Uwland contributed two apiece and Ben Berry kicked one.

The Bombers’ reserves had a great game earlier in the day, dominating the Saints 15.14.104 to 0.6.6.

Blake Mottram led the goal scoring for the side, booting home four for the day, while Michael Koroneos added three, Tully Darcy, Lachie Davis and Joshua Worboys two each, and singles from Brady Green and Safari McVilly.

Best for the side were Blake Mottram, Tyler Humphrey, Joseph Smith, Joe Hutt, Louis Darcy and Lachie Davis.

The under 18s sit just a game out of the top five after last weekend’s narrow eight-point win over the Saints, 6.9.45 to 5.7.37.
