Last weekend’s bottom versus top of the table clash proved a confidence booster for the Tigers, who, after winning the toss and electing to bat last Saturday notched up a defendable 9/237 after 50 overs.

The Camperdown College oval proved a happy hunting ground for the visitors, with captain Tyler Mungean opening the batting and making a quick-fired 74 from 88 deliveries.

Mungean’s time at the crease included an impressive seven boundaries.

He was well supported on the scoreboard by middle-order batsman Taylan Jones who was the side’s second top scorer with 36 runs from 51 deliveries (including two boundaries and a six).

Other contributors to the board included Jake Fowler with a handy 29, Nelson Loader (28) and Jason Fowler (21).

In reply the Pelicans reached 7/240 in the 41st over, with Simon Baker notching up 68 runs before being caught by Jason Fowler off the bowling of Nelson Loader.

Captain Lachlan Green also gave the Tigers plenty to think about with an unbeaten 54 from 39 deliveries which included 10 boundaries.

Best of the bowlers for Woorndoo were Nelson Loader 3/54 from 10 overs and Jake Fowler 2/42 from five.

Round 13 this Saturday will see the Tigers travel to Pomborneit to take on the Bulls before facing Cobden on the Knights’ home ground for the final round of the home and away season.
