The Terang and Mortlake Health Service Ladies’ Auxiliary presented ‘Jazz afternoon with Hot B Hines’ on Sunday at the Terang Golf Club.

The event sought to raise funds for Terang and Mortlake Health Service (TMHS) while providing the community with an occasion to enjoy music and social connection.

Terang and Mortlake Health Service Ladies’ Auxiliary president Bernadette McKinnon said while she was unable to attend, reports of the success of the day had quickly spread.

“I’m told the day was an outstanding success,” she said.

“There was estimated to be around 100 people in attendance, at least 90 or more.

“The band was amazing, and the majority of people had come from out of town to show their support.”

Mrs McKinnon said the jazz afternoon event had raised $2500.

“The funds will go towards helping Terang and Mortlake Health Service wherever it is needed,” she said.

“The continued support of the community to assist our health service is crucial.”

The Terang and Mortlake Health Service Ladies’ Auxiliary has, over the years, raised hundreds of thousands to support the addition of new equipment for TMHS.

Earlier this year the auxiliary donated $5000 to support TMHS in purchasing an Optiflow THRIVE system which enhances patient comfort during procedures which require general anaesthesia.
