The Power put on a strong display across the court on Sunday to defeat Merrivale 37-32 and coach Laura Bourke couldn’t be prouder.

“We are all just so excited to be going so deep into finals, to be playing a preliminary is amazing and is full credit to all the girls for their commitment this year,” Bourke said.

“I’m super proud of them. Everyone has worked hard on their fitness and on our skills and team plays and to see it all come together at the right end of the season is reward for effort.

“To be able to play out four quarters of intense, physically tough netball is so rewarding and it got us over the line last weekend and we’re hoping it will again this Saturday.”

The side will face Allansford in Saturday’s preliminary final – a team they’re yet to defeat in season 2024.

“When we first played them in round two we had a few players out and we went down by 20 goals,” Bourke said.

“But then we met them again in round 11 and we only lost by three. We know what we need to do to get over the top and we’ll be hoping to finish it off strong this weeked.”

Kolora Noorat’s 17 and under netballers will also play a preliminary final this weekend after losing their semi-final to Allansford 35-42.

They will now face Old Collegians (who they last defeated by 13 goals in round 12).

All preliminary final matches this Saturday will be played at Warrnambool’s Reid Oval.

The 17 and under game will start at 10.40am while A grade will be played at 2pm.
