Pigeons leave Maroona
WITH weather conditions predicted to be unfavourable last Sunday, Camperdown Pigeon Club raced on Friday instead.
Graeme transported 104 birds to Maroona and released them into a slight north wind.
The first bird arrived at Graeme McKenzie’s loft in a time of one hour, six minutes and 40 seconds.
Results were as follows:
1st G. and S. McKenzie (velocity 1379.10m/mins), 2nd Rex Perkins (velocity 1284.82 m/mins) and 3rd Mark Kavanagh (velocity 1208.27 m/mins).
The club is planning to race from Ararat this weekend.
Members extend their condolences to family and friends on the passing of Terry Trenorton.
Terry was a non-flying member who often accompanied Jamie, taking pigeons away to be raced.
