Club president Denise Robertson said the first meeting was conducted on March 2 1988 and is delighted the club is still ongoing.

The club currently has 35 members, and even though it is only a small club, they have been successful in their endeavours.

Over the past year the club has attended numerous shows, where many awards have been won.

“We attended the mid-year Country Challenge Show plus Warrnambool Orchid Show and Colac Orchid Show, finishing with our annual show held last October,” Mrs Robertson said.

Our annual show was very fortunate to be supported by Warrnambool and Colac Orchid Clubs which helped our weekend’s success.

“The Cobden and District Orchid Club’s next meeting is on Friday, April 11 at 7pm in the Heytesbury Room at Cobden Civic Hall.

“All are most welcome to attend.”
