Aberlea Timboon volunteer Enid O’Connor described it as a “fantastic day”.

“Thirteen teams made of four players took to the course, displaying their skills, some better than others, to play through the 18 holes,” she said.

“On completion, everyone involved came together in the club rooms where a barbecue lunch was provided, prizes distributed, raffle drawn and good hearted socialising flowed.”

The winning team on the day was ‘Duzzies Doozies.

Mrs O’Connor said Aberlea Inc Mortlake chairperson Jen Ruxborough was “thrilled with the day”.

“She was pleased to share that Aberlea Timboon is continuing to grow, after having purchased the land adjacent to the original site,” she said.

A fundraising push began late last year to raise $300,000 for the first step in the next stage of the Aberlea Timboon development.

Mrs O’Connor said already positive interest had been shown in the development.

“All raffles held during the year as well as today (the golf day) go towards the Timboon project,” she said.

“Aberlea Timboon wishes to thank Peterborough Golf Club, members and players for the success the day is, all our sponsors and supporters, Aberlea committee and friends.”
