Finals continue for Tigers
WOORNDOO Mortlake’s 18 and under netballers have earned their place in yet another Mininera League grand final.
The reigning premiers defeated Penshurst 27-23 in last Saturday’s semi-final, earning themselves a spot in next week’s premiership match.
Best for the side were Mia Richie and Annabelle Glossop.
The club’s A grade, B grade and 15 and under netball sides are all still in premiership contention, with all three teams set to play in this Saturday’s preliminary finals at Dunkeld.
Playing on their home court last Sunday, the Tigers’ A grade side showed strength and versatility across the court to defeat Hawkesdale Macarthur 35-22.
Best players for the Tigers were Nicole Anderson and Sadie Lienert.
They will face Ararat this weekend.
The Tigers’ B grade side will face Hawkesdale Macarthur this weekend after going down by 14 goals to Ararat, 29-43, in the semi-final match.
Best for the Tigers were Shona Makepeace and Brooke Eldridge.
Last Saturday’s semi-final round at Hawkesdale saw the Tigers’ 15 and under netballers lose in a thriller to Glenthompson Dunkeld, going down by one goal in the final minutes, 27-28.
Best for the team were Ava Wardlaw and Ashlee Killen.
The team will now face Tatyoon in this Saturday’s preliminary final at Dunkeld.
Game times for this Saturday are:
13 and under, 9am.
15 and under, 10am.
18 and under, 11.15am.
C grade, 12.30pm.
B grade, 1.45pm.
A grade, 3pm.
