COBDEN experienced rainfall below the long-term average throughout June, as the first half of 2024 has proven to be drier than usual.

In Cobden there was just 43.8mm of rain recorded over the town throughout the month, with the figure falling below the long-term monthly average of 82.3mm.

The highest daily rainfall was recorded on June 29, with 13.8mm hitting the ground.

The result was in stark contrast to June last year, when a 117mm result was recorded, with a highest daily rainfall of 25mm, to make the month the wettest of the year.

The June result for 2024 brings the total rain tally over Cobden to 201.2mm at the half-way point of the year, far below the long-term average 360.1mm over the same period.

Throughout the year to date, the rainfall over Cobden has reached or surpassed the long-term monthly average in only January and April.
