Celebrating animal friends
ANIMALS in Derrinallum had the opportunity to be blessed on Sunday, with a Blessing of the Animals held on the grounds of the Derrinallum Uniting Church.
Great and small: While numbers were low, Reverend Hayden McKeller hopes then Blessing of the Animals catches on in coming years.
Reverend Hayden McKeller said the event went well, despite the low numbers on the day.
“I think it went well – it went as well as it did last year,” he said.
“It’s one that you keep there, and sooner or later people will start noticing and thinking it’ll be something they get involved in.
“God’s love is expressed so much in our pets and our animals that we use in our day-to-day living.
“We need to remember that we are dependent on them.”
