The Bombers will also need to get the win over Terang Mortlake in Saturday’s final round of the home and away season.

When the two sides last met, back in round nine, the Bloods enjoyed a 15-point win.

The Bombers will be hoping to turn the tables on Saturday and not only take the valuable four points, but also boost their percentage if they are to have a chance of sneaking into the five.

Coming off a 78-point loss to North Warrnambool Eagles last weekend, the Bombers certainly have a big task ahead of them but they’ll be hoping to finish strong.

Round 17 last weekend saw the Bombers go down to the second-placed Eagles, 17.14.116 to 5.8.38.

Luke Smith, Tyler Humphrey, Tim Auckland, Sam Thow, Arthur Armstrong and Sam Lucas were all strong for the Bombers.

Christian Koroneos kicked two majors for the day while Jack Hammond, Paul Pekin and Henry Robertson also contributed to the scoreboard.

Cobden’s reserves will be hoping to cement their top-of-the-table position when they meet the fifth-placed Bloods on Saturday.

The third-placed Eagles took it to the Bombers at Bushfield last weekend, with the visitors going down 5.7.37 to 7.9.51.

Tom Mahony, Nico Nieuwenhuizen, Angus Molan and Griffy Dwyer were among the best for the Bombers.

Cobden’s under 18s are out of final contention, sitting sixth, but were competitive against the Eagles, going down 7.2.44 to 8.7.55.

Campbell Walsh kicked three goals for the day and was named in the best alongside Parker Walsh, Edward Delaney, Harvey Wiggins, Finn Darcy and Kayden Daffy.

Cobden’s Open netball side have earnt themselves the double chance come finals, sitting second and percentage above Koroit.

North Warrnambool was within a goal of the Bombers at the end of the opening quarter, however the Bombers regrouped in the second and took an 11-goal lead into the main break.

This was extended to 13 in the third quarter before running home 72-56 goal victors.

Best for the Bombers were Alicia Blain, Nadine McNamara and Emily Finch.

17 and under – Cobden defeated North Warrnambool 44-40. Best: Krystal Blain, Nikki Clover and Sarah Bridges.

17 and under reserves – North Warrnambool defeated Cobden 21-18. Best: Millicent Saunders, Rebecca Foster and Ella Brennan.

15 and under –North Warrnambool defeated Cobden 32-15. Best: Lila Bennett, Marley Howard and Tatum Courtney.

15 and under reserves – North Warrnambool defeated Cobden 49-5.

13 and under – Cobden defeated North Warrnambool 24-20. Best: Grace Hester, Hannah Cridland and Maddison Fisher.

13 and under reserves – Cobden defeated North Warrnambool 20-13. Best: Olivia Bignell, Bridie Roberts and Savannah Beames.
