A wet start to spring

SEPTEMBER saw a wet start to spring for Camperdown, Lismore and Derrinallum, with an increase in rainfall from the previous year.

Camperdown saw 78.9mm of rainfall for the month, which is higher than last September’s total of 42.4mm.

The figure is also above the long-term monthly average of 76.7mm for the month of September.

Camperdown’s highest daily rainfall was recorded on September 3, where 10mm hit the ground over the 24-hour period.

To date, Camperdown’s total rainfall for 2024 sits at 401.5mm.

Meanwhile, Derrinallum saw 63mm of rainfall hit the ground for the month.

The figure is over double September 2023’s total of 31.4mm, but falls just below the long-term monthly average of 65.4mm.

September 9 saw the highest daily rainfall for Derrinallum, with 9mm hitting the ground.

Derrinallum’s total rainfall for 2024 currently sits at 298.2mm

In Lismore, 67.8mm of rainfall was recorded for the month of September.

The figure is significantly higher than last year’s total of 27mm during the same period.

The figure is also above the long-term monthly average of 62mm for the month of September.

The highest daily rainfall for Lismore was 9.2mm, which was recorded on September 21.

Currently, Lismore’s total rainfall for 2024 sits at 286.1mm.
